Scientific Research

Scientific and technological activity of the Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv is carried out on the basis of active legislation of Ukraine, governmental and departmental standards, normative acts of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The main types of scientific and technological activities are as follows:

Currently the scientific potential of the Institute comprises of 16 doctors of sciences, 57 PhDs.

Training of scientific and academic staff of higher qualification is conducted by training military personnel at the three-year full-time postgraduate studies of the Military Institute in 8 specialties (08.00.08 – Money, Finance and Credit; 10.02.16 – Translation and Interpretation; 12.00.07 – Administrative Law and Procedure; Financial Law; Information Law; 12.00.03 – Civil Law and Civil Procedure; Family Law; International Private Law; 12.00.11 – International Law; 19.00.09 – Psychology of Activities in Emergencies; 20.02.04 – Military Geography; 20.02.14 – Materiel) and obtaining the scientific degree of the PhD (doctor of sciences) by attaching to the postgraduate studies of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv as a seeker for a degree.

Military Institute actively participates in carrying out research works, the topics of which are aimed at implementing the defined targeted research programs. Scientific and academic staff is involved in the performance of operational tasks, researches at trainings and other activities of operational, mobilization and combat training.

Development and publication of scientific papers is one direction of scientific potential realization of scientific and academic staff of the Military Institute. The Institute annually publishes monographs, textbooks, training aids and study guides. The newsletter “Visnyk of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Military Special Sciences” and “The Collection of Research Papers” (the status of professional edition) are published.

Cadets and students of the Institute fulfill their potential in the military scientific society of cadets, attendees and students, where they master the technique of conducting independent scientific research. Each year members of the society participate in nationwide competitions for the best scientific work and place high.

The Military Institute annually organizes scientific conferences (1 – international and 1 – All Ukrainian), seminars, workshops, round tables in order to discuss the status and prospects for the development of military education and science, ways to improve the quality of scientific and academic staff training, test research results, conduct organization of cooperation in research activities and training of scientific and academic staff, officers and others.

Patent and licensing, inventive and rationalization activity is a separate component of scientific and technological activities in the Military Institute. It is aimed at improving existing and creating new items (or elements) of materiel, improving the efficiency of their use, searching for new technology (technical) solutions, increasing quality of scientific research, protecting intellectual property rights.
